Legal aid is the provision of assistance to people who are unable to afford legal representation and access to the court system. Legal aid is regarded as central in providing access to justice by ensuring equality before the law, the right to counsel and the right to a fair trial. नि:शुल्क कानूनी सहायता भनेको कुनै पनि अदालत, न्यायाधिकरण वा प्राधिकरणमा मुद्दा चलाउन वा कानुनी कारबाहीका लागि वकिलको सेवा लिन नसक्ने गरिब र सीमान्तकृत व्यक्तिहरूका लागि नि:शुल्क कानुनी सेवाको व्यवस्था हो। कानूनी सहायता भनेको कानुनी प्रतिनिधित्व र अदालत प्रणालीमा पहुँच गर्न नसक्ने व्यक्तिहरूलाई सहायता प्रदान गर्ने प्रावधान हो। कानूनको अगाडि समानता, परामर्शको अधिकार र निष्पक्ष सुनुवाइको अधिकार सुनिश्चित गरी न्यायमा पहुँच प्रदान गर्नका लागि कानुनी सहायतालाई केन्द्रविन्दु मानिन्छ। |
